1. Brief overview of applying for grants (myth and reality).
2. What makes a good funding application?
3. What do you want funding for. Define your proposal, evidence your need.
4. Find your funder. Research the most appropriate source.
5. Top tips for form filling. Develop your funding file.
6. Grant assessment processes and answering queries.
7. Practical exercise: Practise your pitch.
By the end of the day attendees will feel confident to approach a funder and complete an application form.
The trainer Kate Williams has spent 10 years working for three different funders in the past (lottery, private charitable trust, and government). She has assisted applicants to apply, assessed applications and written funding guidance. She has a wealth of experience to pass on, and a passion for the voluntary sector.
