Target: Wellbeing’s Regional Support Network, in collaboration with the Academy for Health and Wellbeing, at Manchester Metropolitan University, is again offering you the opportunity to attend a unique, free programme of courses which support understanding of health.
Targeted at third sector organisations, particularly those new to delivering health activities for funders and commissioners, these sessions will help you:
• Engage with commissioners on their terms, using their language and understanding their aims
• Gain a greater understanding of health inequality issues
• Identify what you already do to deliver health outcomes
• Address the commissioning agenda
Session Details:
All workshops will run from 10am to 3pm (lunch included), and attendees are required to attend all three workshops.
Workshop 1 – Wednesday 29th September
The current national and regional policies on healthy eating, physical activity and mental health, and how these relate to the social and economic factors which affect health.
Workshop 2 – Wednesday 13th October
Promoting and improving health with an emphasis on how to achieve changes in behaviour.
Workshop 3 – Wednesday 27th October
The skills and knowledge needed to complete a needs assessment, evidence needed when securing commissions and how health messages are communicated effectively.
Quotes from last time these workshops were run:
“A great course which is very relevant to the project and has helped me realise we are doing what large organisations aren’t:
“Thought provoking. Good debate. Grounded in reality.”
“Good overview of issues affecting public health and a good opportunity to discuss these with people from different organisations.”
