Neighbourhood Sports Fund and Champions’ Charter
Manchester City Council’s sporting ambition is to create a world-leading community sport system with a network of vibrant, sustainable community sports clubs at its heart.
As part of this ambition the Neighbourhood Sports Fund and Champions’ Charter grant schemes have been created, which demonstrate Manchester’s commitment to build a sporting legacy ahead of and beyond the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Neighbourhood Sports Fund
Manchester City Council has funding available to help Manchester based sports clubs to:
• Increase the number of Manchester residents who are members of sports clubs
• Increase participation in sport
• Reduce the number of 16 to 19-year-olds dropping out of sports activities
Clubs can apply for a maximum of £2,000. Priority will be given to projects that engage the local community. All applicants must show evidence of this support.
Champions’ Charter
Champions’ Charter is a grant scheme funded through a partnership between Manchester City Council and Manchester Sport and Leisure Trust. The scheme provides grants and support services for coaches and talented athletes.
