The Pre-school Nutrition project in Knowsley aims to develop, pilot and evaluate a nutrition training course for early years caterers and staff.

Nineteen Knowsley nurseries/early years settings are taking part in the project.

Accredited by awarding body NCFE, the Early Years Food and Nutrition course is delivered by Knowsley Community College on behalf of cardiovascular disease prevention charity, Heart of Mersey.

Some 35 staff and volunteers have recently completed the ten week accredited course which was designed specifically for the project.

This achievement will be celebrated with a presentation evening on Thursday 18 March from 5pm at the Roby Campus, Rupert Road, Huyton.

Target: Wellbeing updated People's Postcode Trust- Small Grants Programme (news) The People's Postcode Trust aims to make Scotland, England and Wales a better place for both people and nature and acts within the following six fields of operation: poverty prevention; advancement of health; community development; public sports; human rights; and environmental protection.

Grants range from £500 to £10,000 for those in Scotland and England and up to £5,000 for those in Wales.
