What is the real Economic Impact of Target: Wellbeing?
The real economic impact of Target: Wellbeing is far greater than the £11M funding that has been invested into our projects. Groundwork Northwest is collaborating with Infonomics.ltd.uk, to research the true impact of the Target: Wellbeing portfolio in the Northwest. We are looking for a cross-section of our projects to participate in this process.
· The research will contribute to the growing evidence base that interventions such as those provided through Target: Wellbeing, are cost effective, and valuable to local communities.
· By participating in the research your project will benefit, because the knowledge that we will generate with you, about the economic impact of your work, will be a useful tool for attracting grants, commissioning contracts and future investment.
Participating is easy, and will involve a simple telephone questionnaire lasting no longer than an hour, scheduled to take place within the next four weeks. You do not need to be a financial expert in order to participate in this process, as the questionnaire is intended to be accessible to project workers who may not be skilled in financial management. The research questions have been designed by Robin Gower from Infonomics Ltd, who is a professional economist, and member of the Social Return On Investment network. He will be conducting the interviews with support from the Target: Wellbeing team.
The kinds of questions that we are asking:
- Are there any additional benefits that arise as a consequence of your activity?
- How likely is it that the benefits of your project would have happened anyway without your service?
- Can the outcomes be completely attributed to your project, or does it rely on contributions from others?
The knowledge generated through the questionnaires will be linked with Target: Wellbeing’s data on project outcomes and funding, in order to generate a more accurate picture of the true economic impact of your work. The research will contribute to the Target: Wellbeing regional evaluation, and will be shared on our web site, and with all participating projects.
If you are a TWB project, and would like to participate, then please contact Robin Gower, or Rob Squires, using the contact details below.
