Pre-school Nutrition

Pre-school Nutrition

About

This project developed and piloted and accredited nutrition specific to early years settings, which was written and delivered by Knowsley Community College.

The project worked with nurseries from the Knowsley area and it is envisaged that this training will enable early years settings to improve their nutrition knowledge and food provision.

Following on from from this project Liverpool PCT commissioned HM Partnerships (a social enterprise evolved from Heart of Mersey, who originally delivered the project) to create an award winning programme which surveyed all 130 nurseries in the city and investigated the nutritional value of food offered to children, as well as the level of understanding about child nutrition amongst staff. The project recently won the Bupa Foundation Award Healthy Lives Prize (see link at top pf page for news story).
