Our vision is to develop a world class health system to enable people in central Lancashire to live longer, healthier lives. NHS Central Lancashire, through its Commissioning Strategic Plan, Local Area Agreements and Local Strategic Partnership Priorities, is working closely with a wide range of partners including the public sector, voluntary, community and faith sector to address health inequalities. The Target: Wellbeing programme only covers one of the 4 districts in Central Lancashire.

Preston, England’s newest city is at the heart of the county of Lancashire and was granted city status in 2002 as part of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee celebrations.

Preston faces many challenges to the health of its population which we aim to tackle by improving health (through physical activity and healthy eating) and enhancing mental wellbeing through community engagement and community empowerment. As part of the Target: Wellbeing programme, the Preston locality has been awarded £635,000 from the Big Lottery, over a four year period, to offer 6 exciting projects. Projects are being delivered through voluntary and community organisations and will see thousands of local residents benefiting from free and accessible services and workshops.
