RETAIN / REGAIN

RETAIN / REGAIN

Primary Theme:
Improving mental health
About

PROJECT UPDATE JANUARY 2012:
In November 2011, the project attended a Veteran’s Stakeholder Engagement event, hosted by Liverpool PCT. This event was to explore the needs of veteran’s in Merseyside and what services may be of use to them in the future. Since the start of the project, evaluation questionnaires have revealed that 98% of participants feel they are less isolated as a result of the project, and 87% feel an improved sense of independence.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Retain/Regain supports people who are experiencing common mental health problems (stress, anxiety, depression) to stay in work or regain work at the earliest opportunity.

We do this by providing:
• Solution Based Planning – we work with individuals and employers to make plans and find solutions that enable people to return to the workplace after a period of illness and we provide support once people have returned to work;
• Mediation – if required we can offer liaison, consultation and mediation with employers;
• Professional Support – we provide one to one confidential support, information and guidance aimed at helping people stay at work, get back to work, look for alternative employment or a career change.

In addition, we work in partnership with Listening Ear Counselling service to deliver fully accredited Counselling to our clients.
