Exposure to nature improves mental health and wellbeing!
For the last 6 years at the University of Essex, researchers have combined these ideas into a programme of research to investigate the synergistic benefits of engaging in physical activities whilst simultaneously being exposed to nature.
Their research concluded that after engaging in green exercise:
- 2 out of 3 people have improved self-esteem.
- 2 out of 3 people have improved mood.
- 3 out of 4 people feel less depressed, tense and angry.
